Fantasy Football 2023: Week 14 Sleepers

Week 14 Fantasy Football Sleepers

Anyone can look at fantasy football rankings, but what if you like risks and want to swing for the fences? As the season goes on, this will be the spot for you to find the sleepers to start in your fantasy football league. Especially when byes and injuries start to pile up. Each week I will be picking one fantasy football sleeper at each position. These players are set to outperform their ranking and help win your week on the way to becoming a League Winner! Welcome to Fantasy Football 2023: Week 14 Sleepers.

Now let’s look at what we are picking from:

  • I’m defining a sleeper as someone ranked outside of the top 30 for WRs and RBs who will finish in the top 20 at the position. That would be around 14 fantasy points based on the average of last year.
  • For QBs and TEs, I am defining them as outside the top 12 but will finish in the top 10. Last year using average points per game that would be 21 fantasy points for QB and 11 fantasy points for TE.
  • PPR Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR) on Fantasy Pros will be used. These players may not be on the waiver wire but could be big
  • I will track the hit rate based on the above settings but also how far the picked sleepers outperform their initial rankings for the week.

Week 12 Review

Week 13 we went 2-2 with players finishing higher than they were initially ranked. Both Dameon Pierce and Jonathan Mingo were very close to Sleeper hits. Kenny Pickett went out early but even if you combine his and Mitch Trubisky’s stats it would still be QB 20.  I am 10/41 on sleeper hits and 21/35 on players finishing higher than they were initially ranked. For the year I am at 60% of hitting the player ranking above their initial ranking.

So, now let’s take a look at some fantasy football sleepers for Week 14 of the NFL season.

QB: Jake Browning vs the Indianapolis Colts

Fantasy Pros ECR: QB19

Can Jake Browning do it two weeks in a row? I know the Jacksonville Jaguars defense played pretty poorly but Browning stood in there and made some nice throws with confidence. The game plan was to get the ball to Ja’Marr Chase early and then get others involved later. He now gets to play an Indianapolis Colts team that is allowing over 20 fantasy points a game to outside receivers. Look for Chase to have a monster game again and that will only help Browning.

RB: Dameon Pierce vs the New York Jets

Fantasy Pros ECR: RB35

Dameon Pierce barely missed a top-20 finish at running back last week, so let’s run with him again. Pierce was able to get into the end zone and lead the carry distribution 15 to 8 over Devin Singletary. Pierce will get another good matchup this week against the New York Jets who give up the eighth-most fantasy points to running backs. This should be a lower-scoring game where Pierce should get plenty of volume.

WR: Jordan Addison vs the Las Vegas Raiders

Fantasy Pros ECR: WR38

Justin Jefferson should be back this week but I am not sure if he will be full 100% right out of the gate. Even if he is, Jordan Addison showed that he can be very productive with Jefferson. In the five games they have both played, Addison had three top-30 finishes and averaged almost six targets per game. While there may be fewer targets, Jefferson’s return will help Addison not be covered as the number one option. The Las Vegas Raiders give up the 11th most points to wide receivers and have given up almost twice the fantasy points a game to receivers out wide rather than the slot. Addison has been out wide in 484 out of 652 snaps this season.

TE: Chigoziem Okonkwo vs the Miami Dolphins

Fantasy Pros ECR: TE19

Chigoziem Okonkwo had a slow start to the season but in the last two weeks, he has been building a connection with rookie quarterback Will Levis. He has caught seven passes on 11 targets for 107 yards in the last two games. The Miami Dolphins are middle of the pack in giving up fantasy points to tight ends and allow 9.4 per game. That amount of points would have ranked TE10 last week. The Titans have not gotten a second receiver to step up beside Deandre Hopkins, so I see Okonkwo continuing in that role.

Good luck to everyone this week! Hopefully these Week 13 sleepers can take your fantasy football team over the top. Make sure to follow our content all year so we can help you to be a League Winner!
