Film Notes and Highlights
Jermaine Burton showed flashes at Georgia but moved on to Alabama for more opportunity. His first year at Alabama he did not live up to expectations and at times could not get open. In 2023 he was better at it but not the consistent game breaker that his speed would suggest. He has strong hands and can snatch the ball away from defenders. Burton is good on hitches and comebacks as his speed makes defenders back pedal to not get beat.
He can be a deep threat but does not win those matchups as much as you would like. Burton needs to become a more precise route runner and work on being more physical off of the line of scrimmage. Another thing I noticed was lack of effort and poor technique on blocking. There is definite potential but I am not sure I see Burton as a top receiver for a team, a solid WR2 or even WR3. – Brandon Haye
