For many college football programs, the 2026 recruiting class has been practicing with their respective teams since spring. However, it’s a completely different story for the Naval Academy. Unlike other programs, Navy football players don’t arrive on campus until late June for Induction Day, where the incoming freshman class officially reports to Annapolis. In fact, the 2026 Navy football recruiting class didn’t report until June 25, with most spending a year at the Naval Academy Prep School.
Navy Announces 2026 Football Recruiting Class
Constantly behind the eight ball, Navy head coach Brian Newberry has his work cut out to produce another incredible season. The Midshipmen have held the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy in back-to-back years. And, they’ll look to keep that streak this season. And while the team’s freshman class may not provide a major boost for the current season, there are plenty of faces to get familiar with.
Sean Martin, Cornerback
Sean Martin is a three-star prospect who committed to the Midshipmen in 2025. Originally committed to Eastern Michigan, Martin found a home at Navy and is expected to make a splash for the program.
At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Martin is prototypical size for a feisty defensive back. And, he was a star at Dunnellon High, where he won Marion County Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season.
MARION COUNTY PLAYER OF THE YEAR!
None other than OUR GUY Sean Martin @seanm4rtin
Super proud of you! You have changed this program for the better and this is the final accolade for one of the most decorated Tigers! #ITSABOUTUS #DTM @YsMesp @thecoachsutton @JB3Bynum… pic.twitter.com/LZoX6HD56M

At Dunnellon, Martin was a do-it-all player. On defense, he secured 66 tackles as a presence in the secondary. Meanwhile, he played quarterback, running back, and wide receiver on offense, scoring eight touchdowns on the season. To top it off, he was also the team’s kick returner. That type of versatility will create for an interesting chess piece for the Midshipmen to utilize.
Jack Heath, Offensive Lineman
Like Martin, offensive lineman Jack Heath is a three-star prospect. Officially committing to the program in 2024, he prepares to enter his freshman season playing at the collegiate level. And for a program that normally relies on undersized offensive lineman, Heath could be a blessing for the Midshipmen.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, Heath is a massive player with good frame for the position. He was a 5A First-Team All-State selection in Colorado and an anchor along the Mountain Vista offensive line. Playing at right guard, his HUDL tape is filled with violence and pancake blocks. Further, his frame and strength allowed him to take on multiple defenders at once when needing to pull.
With the Naval Academy likely slimming his frame while increasing his strength, Heath could be an incredible mauler in the rushing attack for the Midshipmen.
Truman Brasfield, Wide Receiver
Truman Brasfield is a two-star wideout from Corvallis, Oregon who committed to the program in 2025. A three-sport athlete, Brasfield found success in both basketball, football, and track before deciding to pursue a career at the Naval Academy.
Standing a 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, Brasfield brings good size and speed to the position. At Navy, receivers are expected to do a lot more than catch the football. With that in mind, his size should help him stay on the field in a variety of ways both as a pass-catcher and a blocker.
At Crescent Valley High School, Brasfield was dominant. In his senior season, the wideout secured 90 receptions for 1335 yards with 19 touchdowns. He averaged 169.7 all-purpose yards per game, showcasing how dominant a player he can be. Not only that, but Brasfield was fantastic as a returner, too. He had a 90-yard return during his senior season, averaging 28 yards per attempt in the process. Despite his two-star rating, Brasfield has the ability to be a difference-maker if it clicks at the next level.
Jacob Williams, Running Back
Jacob Williams is another two-star athlete that joins the Navy football program in 2026. A running back from Seton Catholic College, Williams showcased himself well playing for the Naval prep team this past season.

Yet, it’s what he did at Seton that should leave fans impressed.
Despite limited data on the games itself, for those that were calculated, Williams truly shined. He averaged over 140 yards per game as a runner, finding the end zone with ease in the process. Breaking off 90-yard runs, the back showcased the strength and speed to take it to the house on any play. In his final season at SCC, Williams put together 1252 yards and 15 touchdowns, with an absurd 12.0 yards per carry.

The Navy football program is one that consistently finds great options at the running back (and slotback) position. And, there’s a chance Williams has the opportunity to keep that trend going forward.
