Film Notes and Highlights
Brandon Dorlus was used in a variety of ways at Oregon. He played a 5t (and sometimes rushing from a 2 point stance), inside as a DT, and for some reason, in coverage. Dorlus has a good side-step swim move he times with the snap. At times it’s destructive, but usually Dorlus misses sack opportunities because of his poor acceleration. He also has a good bull rush when he keeps his feet moving.
In the run game, Dorlus is usually invisible. His awareness is bad, consistently allowing ball carriers to run past him without him even realizing it’s happening. And despite his ‘tweener’ size, his acceleration is poor, and often gets out-ran even when having an advantage. You won’t see Dorlus chasing ball carriers downfield afterwards, either, as he has a poor motor and effort. To me, Brandon Dorlus is a Day 3 rotational player with a lot to work on. – Thomas Christopher

I don't think Oregon DT Brandon Dorlus is a Day 2 prospect.
Here he shows a lack of awareness & inability to get off the block as the RB runs right by him (which happens far too often).
His lack of acceleration & motor will stop him from being a game changer at the next level. pic.twitter.com/XtD5mm134Z
