Film Notes and Highlights
Ladd McConkey can be forgotten in this wide receiver draft class until you turn on the tape. In another offense he would have had monster numbers in college. He is explosive off the line and is a great route runner. He is sudden in an out of breaks, fooling defenders and creating tons of space. Ladd McConkey can find spots in zone coverage and has speed to win over the top of a defense. He has great hands and snatches balls from defenders. Surprisingly in a run first offense, he sometimes does not search out blocks or sustain them. I think he is a willing blocker so that could be fixed with coaching. Even though he is fast off the line, against press coverage at times he struggled when defenders engage early in the route. – Brandon Haye
