Film Notes and Highlights
Troy Franklin had a great 2023 season that helped his 2024 NFL draft stock. He is a deep threat that is quick off the line of scrimmage. 40% of his yardage came on deep throws of 20+ yards and seven of his 14 touchdowns came on deep passes. He is a good route runner and can win against man and zone. His speed allows for him to escape jams and work comebacks very well because defenders are afraid of getting beat deep. I think Franklin does struggle against physicality, or if defenders can get a good press on him. There were times he was not able to fight through contact at the catch point. Franklin did not do this all the time but on short passes he had a tendency to body catch which I would like to see him snag the ball more often. – Brandon Haye
