The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are earning some serious momentum in the college football recruiting trail. 247Sports has them as the No. 25 recruiting class in the nation, while Rivals has them at No. 27. Much of that has been due to a big June for Brent Key and his staff.
Georgia Tech Football: Scouting Report on June 11 Commits
Thursday, June 11, 2026, was a big day. Georgia Tech earned commitments from three 2027 recruits: linebacker Jason Crenshaw Jr., and wide receivers Bryan Porter and Antwan Lockett. All three were rated three stars and could become vital to Georgia Tech in the near future.
All rankings are via Rivals’ recruiting database.
WR Antwan Lockett
- Position: Wide Receiver
- Height/Weight: 5-foot-10, 175 pounds
- HS/City/State: Colquitt County High School, Moultrie, Georgia
- Pos./State/National Rank: 143/118/1065
Lockett could be one of the hidden gems of not just Georgia Tech’s class, but the receiving class as a whole. He totaled 811 yards and 10 touchdowns on 40 receptions, averaging a whopping 20.3 yards per catch with the Colquitt County Packers.
Lockett’s polished abilities stand out immediately. He wins with agility, speed, and route-running, showing a diverse route tree already. He can beat you with curls and screens, deep digs and posts, and slants. When he caught the ball, he shed tons of tackles in the open field.
His size indicates he’s probably better used in the slot, but he showed promise on the boundary too, especially on goal-line fades. He’ll need to show more run-blocking and press coverage wins on tape for me to have more trust in him as a boundary, but the talent is there. He gives a lot of Tyler Lockett vibes, with his ability to win against zone with pure route-running and open space intelligence.
Lockett was such an integral part of a Packers offense that fired on all cylinders. He averaged 73.7 yards per game, which was nearly double the next receiver (quarterback A’zhiyen Alridge had 38.7). He is a gem in Georgia Tech’s class for sure.
WR Bryan Porter
- Position: Wide Receiver
- Height/Weight: 6-foot, 190 pounds
- HS/City/State: Bergen Catholic High School, New Milford, New Jersey
- Pos./State/National Rank: 97/23/737
Porter, younger brother of 2025 five-star WR Quincy Porter, is a tough receiver. His tape shows great lower-body strength, translating into an ability to run-block, win jump balls, and fend off coverage. He is great at adjusting his body when the ball is in the air, along with tracking the ball. Along with these traits, his verticality and sure hands make him a good deep-ball threat.
He isn’t the most pristine route runner, but he is elusive with the ball in his hands. Defenders bounce off of him instead of him having to juke to get out of their way. He is a good field stretcher, making a role with Georgia Tech pretty easy to see off the bat.

Porter does well in blocking on the perimeter and against second-level defenders. He even earned some special team reps with his blocking skills. With all of his abilities, he probably profiles more as an X-receiver. Regardless, his role, along with his bloodlines, makes him a key recruit in Georgia Tech’s class.
LB Jason Crenshaw Jr.
- Position: Linebacker
- Height/Weight: 6-foot-2, 210 pounds
- HS/City/State: Prattville High School, Prattville, Alabama
- Pos./State/National Rank: 93/44/1073
Crenshaw Jr. is a hybrid linebacker who can bring a lot of spice to the pass rush. He was a heat-seeking missile at Carver High School during his junior season, and offensive tackles had a handful going against him on the edge.
Crenshaw Jr. has an explosive first step and insane speed. His power and bend make him stand out as well. He showed great hands as an edge rusher, trying out cross-chop moves, which should only get better in college. His high competitive level and aggressiveness (against the run as well) should be another big addition to the pass-rush group.
He has a good bit of positional versatility, lining up on the edges and on the second level. He could be used as a stack linebacker for Georgia Tech as well. He’s going to get a lot of tackles and some sacks at the next level, similar to Smael Mondon from the Georgia Bulldogs.
Georgia Tech Football: 2027 Recruiting Class Status
The Yellow Jackets earned some much-needed depth in the receiver room with Porter and Lockett’s commitment. They now have three receivers with differing skillsets that could all fight for roster spots on the 2027 or 2028 squad.
With Crenshaw Jr., Georgia Tech gets an interesting hybrid LB type. They have three edge rushers on their commit list, but Crenshaw Jr. could play a different role from them. If Georgia Tech earns a linebacker who thrives in college, that will be very effective to round out their recruiting class. Regardless, Brett Key has been cooking in recruiting lately.
